Ability to sort dropdown menus (in filters)#457

Would be great if it were possible to configure sorting parameters for the dropdown menus that appear in filters. For instance if you’re filtering by country it doesn’t look good to have the countries not displayed alphabetically

I agree, that would definitely not look good.

I’m not sure in which situation or configuration this problem arises though, by quickly testing I couldn’t reproduce it in my test table, other than defining an incorrect order in the values list on purpose.
But maybe this behaviour depends on many things.

As I understand it, feel free to correct me if you’re having a different experience, reading from the table should put the values list in alphabetical order. Or without using the values list at all, just having the filter values always read from the table.

In any case, at least the values list could use some improvement.
If we have a lengthy list of values that needs new values added every now and then, it’s quite cumbersome to add values and not mess up the order. If I have understood correctly, there’s no way to add values anywhere but to the end, also not possible to put the values in order by dragging. So it would be great to have at least a button there to sort the values list.

(Edit: There apparently is a way to put the values list in alphabetical order after adding new values in the end. Just click “read from table” and then “merge”. That’s great..!)
