create a special column name within the Master Table to contain the template name to be used in a Master-Detail to display the child record(s). By having the ability to customize the expected fields, detail pop-ups or output pages can have different detail fields displayed. Unused table columns can be blank or nulll. This works great when you have an inventory of items with differing taxonomies. You can create a template page for each taxonomy in your table.
For example, in a vehicle table, the pop-up for details can have a field for number-of-passengers when the item is a car and a field for hauling-capacity for a truck.
